Viktor Kolmačkaadvocate
During his master’s studies, he worked at several law firms. Prior to that, he worked at the Supreme Court as an assistant to the presiding judge of one of the court’s panels, specializing in commercial matters and, later on, contractual relations. He also was an assistant in the Department of Private and Civil Law at Palacký University in Olomouc.
In addition to legal practice, he is the author of several articles published in Právní rozhledy, Obchodněprávní revue, and Časopis pro právní vědu a praxi. Many of his papers focus on a critical analysis of current jurisprudence with the aim to stimulate change. The Supreme Court followed up on some of his opinions in its jurisprudence. His master’s and doctoral studies took him to Germany (Göttingen) and Austria (Graz) for scholarly stays. His thesis on the business confirmation letter received the Randa Foundation award, and several of his articles received honourable mentions. In his dissertation (now in press at C. H. Beck publishing house) he elaborated on the issue of liability for legal defects.
